Seoul pho eatery is Rosé from Blackpink’s favorite

The singer shared photos of a late night meal at the restaurant, which was just an outdoor noodle cart, in 2019. She wrote in the accompanying caption: “Late night Pho” .
She has shared her love of the dish many times, including during Blackpink’s Hanoi concerts at My Dinh National Stadium on July 29 and 30.

Many fans were curious as to why she passed by a streetside outdoor mobile food stall instead of visiting a fancy restaurant. They then started looking for the noodle cart.
They then found the place, which at the time was a small shop called Pho Thumb.

Simple stall at the time, the mobile Pho Thumb had no fixed location. The booth was decorated with many Vietnam-related artifacts, such as chains of conical hats and paintings of a woman in an ao dai riding a motorcycle.

People flocked to the restaurant after his identity was revealed to sample the world singer’s favorite dish, despite long queues as there were few staff on site. The business then flourishes.
Pho Thumb then transformed into an established restaurant with a fixed address. People can now visit it on Huiujeong-ro Street in Seoul, near the headquarters of YG Entertainment, Blackpink’s management agency.

Located near the famous and crowded Hongdae district, the restaurant is now more accessible to more people. It serves lunch to customers between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., then reopens at 5 p.m. before closing at 10 p.m.

Pho Thumb can serve about 20 people at a time. It has an open kitchen, surrounded by seating, so customers can watch the cooking process while enjoying their meals.

With around ten dishes on the menu, Pho Thumb’s top-selling dish is still Vietnamese beef pho, which was the dish ordered by Blackpink Rosé.
It takes a lot of effort to make the dish. In a video uploaded to the HanQuocBros YouTube channel, Pho Thumb’s owner says he simmers the bones for eight hours to flavor the soup without adding artificial sweeteners.

Bun thit nuong (rice noodles served with grilled pork) is another dish sold at Pho Thumb.

Seafood noodles, spicy-sour noodles and shrimp cutlets are also served at the restaurant.

The restaurant owner has shared many photos of himself on various trips to Vietnam on the restaurant’s Instagram account.
