    345 tons of hotel equipment recycled by Sands China and its community partners since 2014

    MACAU, December 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Sands China mobilized 330 team members, as well as volunteers from Saint Joseph’s University, the non-profit organization Sustaincia, Oxfam Macau and the Macau Youth Volunteer Association to bring together 30,000 hygiene kits for international social enterprise Clean up the world Thursday at the Venetian® Cotai Expo in Macau. This is the 12th consecutive year that Sands China has partnered with local social service organizations to support the Clean the World initiative.


    A total of 330 volunteers from Sands China and Saint Joseph's University, non-profit organization Sustaincia, Oxfam Macau and the Macau Youth Volunteer Association are working together to make 30,000 hygiene kits for global charity Clean the World at the Venetian Macao on Thursday.     A total of 26,000 emergency hygiene kits will be delivered to the Philippines, while 4,000 will be distributed to 11 NGOs in Macau and three charitable and educational institutions in Hong Kong. The kits provide essential hygiene products to families in need and promote the concept of resource recycling to younger generations.

    After guests check out of the hotel, Sands China collects the used soap for Clean the World for recycling. Through a remanufacturing process, the soap is disinfected and reused, extending the life of hotel supplies that would otherwise be discarded as unnecessary waste. Besides soap, each kit contains shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, toothbrush, toothpaste and a card with an encouraging message from Sands China and Clean the World in a reusable non-woven bag.
