The Note range normally launched around September / October, so we generally thought that was when we expected the new folds to arrive. If a rumor is to be believed, Samsung may be planning to launch its new foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3, in July this year – months earlier than the Z Fold2, which arrived last September.
We may have to wait 5 months to see Flip 3 and Fold 3.

If Samsung is now transitioning to its release strategy and its flagship H1 (the S21 seires) already released in January, then this new timeline makes sense. If the company needs to stagger two major versions of the schedule per year, they can be spaced six months apart. That means new foldables would be expected six months after the Galaxy S21 lineup in July.

It is still too early to tell if this rumor is true. Maybe the company is on the right track to releasing foldable products in July, but you never know if it will run into some sort of manufacturing delay. Who knows, maybe Samsung has it all figured out with foldable devices for the third iteration. After all, it’s already been the subject of a major recall with the first-gen Galaxy Fold.
The Galaxy Z Fold3 is expected to change the UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) composition of the second generation of foldable products and could go back to plastic. The Fold3’s screen is rumored to measure 7.55 inches on its internal display with a 6.21-inch cover screen. Another rumor was that the Galaxy Z Fold3 could be priced the same as the Z Fold2 when it launched: $ 2,000. A supposed render of the Z Fold3 looks like parts of the S21 Ultra got mixed up with a foldable form factor and an S Pen. We have yet to see Samsung offer a foldable device that supports the S Pen. The previous models have screens which are too delicate and which are easily marked.

For the Z Flip3, the interior screen can reach 6.7 inches diagonally and it is assumed to have a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Z Flip3’s cover screen is also expected to expand from of the original Z Flip. It is also said that there will be a cheaper Z Flip3 model, possibly powered by a mid-range chipset.
