Samsung’s 65W USB power charger has achieved another certification – this time with the German authority TUV SUD.
The charger, model number EP-TA865, has already been certified in South Korea and has been pictured. We know that it supports programmable power supply and can charge devices up to 20V and 3.25A (that’s 65 watts).
But it is not known when this charger will be available to the general public, or which device will be able to take advantage of its power. The Galaxy S21 series supports up to 25W (with the EP-TA800 adapter) and Samsung has the 45W adapter (EP-TA845) which is currently sitting doing nothing.
Perhaps Samsung will bring 65W charging to its fall flagships – the Galaxy Note21 and / or the Galaxy Z Fold3. But it’s more than likely that these won’t get a charger in the box anyway, so you’ll have to purchase the speed-king charger separately.
