Samsung’s latest and biggest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S21 Ultra, is already on its way for those who have pre-ordered one, and while you wait for yours, aren’t you interested in a good test drive? old-fashioned sustainability?
Of course you are, and JerryRigAll is there to deliver, as always. Oddly enough, the scratch test reveals that Samsung shipped Zack’s unit with not one, but two screen protectors applied to the Gorilla Glass Victus, which we feel is overkill. And it’s also not something we’ve never heard of before as a practice in the mobile world, so maybe it was just an assembly error?
Anyway, other than that, the glass underneath is still glass, so you already know the deal – it scores at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, with deeper grooves appearing at the bottom. level 7.
The sides of the phone are aluminum, as are the buttons, while the screen lasts for about 45 seconds under direct fire from a lighter and then does not recover. The fingerprint sensor continues to function even when the screen above is scratched, and the S21 Ultra survived the folding test with flying colors.
