SHANGHAI, CHINA – MARCH 12, 2021 – Customers experience the Oppo Find X3 series mobile phone, which was launched last night, at an Oppo store in Shanghai, March 12, 2021.

These developments are part of integrating OnePlus as a sub-brand of OPPO, which a company memo leak first detailed.

The CEO and co-founder of OnePlus, Pete Lau, hinted about the Chinese phone maker merger on June 16, saying that his organization is facing numerous changes.

OPPO Flagship Lines: OnePlus and Find X Series

According to GizmoChina, a Chinese leaker, who goes by the name Arsenal on Weibo, a Twitter counterpart in China, divulged the information that OPPO will have two flagship lines.

The leaker bared that OnePlus, which recently merged with OPPO, will be positioned as the high-end line of the latter. That said, fans and longtime users of the former could expect the next generation of their smartphones to get the top-of-the-line specs.

Furthermore, OPPO’s Find X series is here to stay as the second flagship line of the Chinese giant.

The leaker also claimed that the Find X is ahead of OnePlus as it introducedthe new features that the Chinese phone maker has developed.

Arsenal also compared the OPPO flagship to another Chinese phone maker, Huawei, noting that the OnePlus will be similar to the P series, whereas the Find X is likened to the Mate series.

However, it is to note that these information is still based from information opined by a leaker, the Chinese company has yet to confirm it.

If ever these hold true, consumers of the brands should expect it to commence by next year, the Chinese leaker suggested.

    Oxygen OS and Color OS

As the OPPO and OnePlus merger have been confirmed, 9to5Google noted that OnePlus devices released outside of China will still sport the Oxygen OS. On the flipside, phones in the Asian country will otherwise run ColorOS.

Nevertheless, both operating systems will sport a common codebase, OnePlus announced on July 1.

OnePlus explained that the decision further allows them to roll out Android updates more efficiently in the future.

Meanwhile, OnePlus will be supporting its aging flagship phones for the next three major Android updates.

On the other hand, the Nord and Nord CE devices will only get two significant Android updates coupled with three years of security updates.

Lastly, the Nord N phones will be supported for at least a single major Android update with security updates of three years as well.
