Even though Nokia phones run on vanilla Android, the Nokia 8.3 5G is the company’s first phone to receive Google’s latest Android 11 operating system. That’s almost six months after the release of said operating system.

Nokia announced the rollout in a tweet and users say the OTA update has already started. The download weighs 1.89 GB and the changelog is brief but goes through one of the key features of Android 11 like notification grouping, chat bubbles, unique permissions management, and more.
The update also dates the security patch back to January 2021. If you still haven’t received your update, don’t worry as it may be a staged rollout, you may have to wait. A few days.
