A new Nintendo Switch controller has been launched by 8BitDo and is expected to offer players a new and improved Xbox-like experience. The controller will reportedly sell for the same price as the Switch Pro Gamepad.
8BitDo releases a wireless Nintendo Switch controller that comes with an Xbox-like experience
The gadget was spotted in an article by Review Geek, which shows images of a controller that looks different from the regular Nintendo Switch controller. The newer controller aims to give Nintendo Switch players the same experience as playing with an Xbox.
The article starts by asking players if they’ve ever tried using a “big boy controller” with a Nintendo Switch and states that if so, there is actually a solution available. The article then shared the 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth gamepad, a controller similar to the Xbox one.
The new controller is an upgrade from the previous version, which was still wired
Notably, it’s designed to contain an Xbox-esque aesthetic, and it even comes with some advanced customizations and macro support. The controller even comes with its own charging dock to ensure gamers can play longer with occasional charging.
In the past, the Ultimate controller was offered as a wired version by 8BitDo, including 2.4GHz configurations for PC. However, the new Bluetooth model gives gamers on the Nintendo Switch a more Xbox-esque feel.
The ultimate controller costs the same as the Nintendo Switch Pro gamepad at $70
The controller has reportedly sold for the same price as the Nintendo Switch Pro gamepad, which will cost buyers $70. According to the article, the nice thing about the Ultimate controller is that players have the option to adjust the tension of the joysticks and even remap the buttons.
The Ultimate controller also comes with options for users to assign even macros, which are essentially a script of button pressing, to two different additional buttons in the controller’s grip.

8BitDo Nintendo Switch controller can be customized through the app on a computer or iPhone
Getting gamers to make these adjustments doesn’t require a lot of technical hardware skill. 8BitDo is built with an app that can be accessed on the player’s computer or on the iPhone to make various adjustments to the specific customization options.
Users can also save their custom controller profiles, which are easily accessible by simply clicking a button on the front of the controller. The 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth controller is reportedly available for pre-order.
The Nintendo Switch Ultimate controller retails for $70, which is considered a steal compared to the official gamepads, according to Review Geek. The good thing about this controller is that it is wireless compared to its previous wired options.
