Bullit Group, the rugged phone maker that owns the Cat, Kodak and Land Rover smartphone brands, has entered into a long-term brand partnership agreement with Motorola. The UK-based company will develop and market Moto-branded rugged phones that will be resistant to drops and bumps, as per the attached press release.
This is a unique strategic alliance, as it enables Bullitt to apply its expertise to the Motorola product portfolio. Motorola invented the mobile phone and remains one of the world’s most iconic brands.
Being commissioned by Motorola to create a portfolio of Motorola branded rugged phones is a testament to the exceptional business we have developed at Bullitt over the past 11 years. – Dave Floyd (co-founder of Bullitt)
Bullitt Group began its journey in the rugged smartphone industry in 2009 and currently designs, manufactures and distributes its Cat and Land Rover licensed smartphones in more than 50 markets around the world.

Motorola made its own attempt at drop-resistant phones and shatter-proof screens with the Moto Z Force and Moto Z2 Force in 2016-17. More details on the first Moto-branded rugged phone will be revealed later this quarter.
