Motorola’s very long-running budget G-series looks set to jump into the double-digit space this year. Earlier today we told you about the upcoming Moto G10 and Moto G30, but there will also be a Moto G40.
It is rumored to be the device named Ibiza which was spotted on Geekbench yesterday. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s recently unveiled entry-level 5G chipset, the Snapdragon 480, and comes with 6GB of RAM and Android 11 preinstalled. The phone has already been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, and now a tipster claims it’s headed to India.
The launch is expected to take place soon, and the Moto G40 will feature a 90Hz IPS LCD display. It will be billed as a budget 5G device, which is part of the rapidly filling market of late. What’s not clear is the resolution, and it could be 720p + or 1080p +. We obviously hope for the latter, but don’t hold your breath. The G40 should go official before the end of the month.
