A new report from a Korean outlet Chosun claims LG has indefinitely suspended its successor V60.
LG was supposed to begin field testing the phone, dubbed Rainbow, at the end of February, with a view to release to the market in March. The company has reportedly stopped communicating with local carriers about the Rainbow release.
LG’s Rainbow phone is rumored to be a traditional-looking smartphone as opposed to the Explorer Project roll-up phone (which LG demonstrated at CES), which is due in 2021. Rumored to be the Rainbow is the LG V70 with a Snapdragon 888 chipset and support for a stylus.
This is not the first Korean report citing an LG phone on hold. Yonhap reported that LG put its rollable phone on hold, a report which was later officially denied.
According to earlier reports, LG was looking for a buyer for its fledgling smartphone business. A turbulent period at LG Mobile, indeed.
