The Redmi K40 and K40 Pro will be unveiled on February 25. It’s a long time to wait for specs – what does the Pro have that Vanilla doesn’t? Well, these leaked About screen screenshots answer it in detail.
Both phones will have 6.81-inch AMOLED displays with 1440p + resolution. Xiaomi has already officially confirmed that they use the same E4 light material as the Mi 11, so it’s probably the same panel (with 120Hz and HDR10 + support).
Now for the differences. The Redmi K40 Pro will be equipped with the Snapdragon 888 chipset, while the vanilla phone will use the Snapdragon 870 (an overclocked 865). As for the teased version of Dimensity 1200, it will likely be called the Redmi K40S.

Leaked specifications: Redmi K40 vs. K40 Pro
Let’s come back to the Pro against vanilla. The Pro will have up to 12GB of RAM (likely larger storage options as well), although the exact configurations are not yet clear. The Pro battery will also be larger, 5,000mAh versus 4,500mAh.
Both phones will have a 108 MP main camera, however, ultra-wide or tele mods will be different – the Pro has 13 + 5 MP, the vanilla 8 + 5 MP (it’s unclear which resolution goes with which lens) . Both models will have the same 30 MP selfie camera.
Xiaomi said the K40 Pro will start at CNY 3,000, the K40 is expected to cost less and we suspect the K40S will be the cheapest of the three.
