It was a shock to recognize that such a powerhouse like Keyontae Johnson collapsed into the ground of a basketball court, but he did fall on the ground this Saturday. The star of Florida Gators could not proceed with the game between his side and the rivalry Florida State since he fell into the ground early and had to be treated in the emergency room. Johnson now is getting better but his condition remained to be critical.
Mike White, his coach at the Gators, even canceled the post-game interview so that he could join Johnson at Tallahassee Memorial. According to ESPN, White had stayed with his player overnight. Johnson’s family will also join him in the hospital and pray for the player.
White also posted a prayer for Johnson on his Twitter.
“Please keep praying for @Keyontae and his family. We all love him,” White posted.

Coronavirus is the suspect of Johnson’s collapse on Saturday. The star of Florida gators was diagnosed positive with coronavirus this June, and though he was announced to fully recovered, the impact of the deadly virus on Johnson’s body is inevitable. The player is reported to suffer muscle pain before collapsing on the court. Doctors announced that Johnson’s heart muscle is under critical condition.
Right before he collapsed on the ground of the stadium, Johnson finished a beautiful and sensational alley-oop from a pass of Tyree Appleby. Johnson was celebrating with his teammate but then the powerhouse of Gators fell into the unconscious status.
About the match on Saturday, Florida Gators was not the same when they played without the service of Johnson. Gators was in advantage but then lost the game with a result of 71-83. Commenting about the loss of Gators, Florida State’s coach – Leonard Hamilton – said that the incident affect his rivalry in an adverse way and it was understandable why they lost in the end.
In conclusion, we all hope that Johnson is going to recover from the pain and hopefully, we will once again see the powerhouse of Gators on the ground of the SEC.
