Instagram works on vertical stories in the TikTok style. And that makes sense, because most of the scrolling on our phones is done vertically, as TikTok quickly realized.
The discovery was made by a developer, who was able to extract Vertical Stories functionality from Instagram’s source code. Of course, since he’s not live yet, we can’t see him in action yet.

The Instagram rep even confirmed to TechCrunch that the feature is in development, but said it was still an early prototype and as such was not available to the public. When that might change has not been revealed, unfortunately.
