iMessage, Apple Incorporated’s popular instant messaging service, currently has an issue that prevents its users to send messages to their contacts. Previously, the tech giant manufacturer confirmed that several reports are complaining about the “Not Delivered” issue.

Because of this, Apple confirmed that the issue is true, which prevents iPhone owners to access the iMessage app. On the other hand, DownDetector also confirmed that iMessage users were really experiencing the system problem on May 20.
The popular app website stated that during its peak on May 20, 1% of the users were not able to receive messages, 34% could not send messages, and 63% were not able to log in to iMessage.

According to Cult of Mac’s latest report, Apple already fixed the issue on Thursday, May 20, thanks to the company’s latest iOS 14.5’s bug fixes.

iMessage’s problem usually happens when the users always turn their iPhones off. Doing this will cut off all connections. This simply means that your device won’t receive messages from SMS, iMessage, and other apps.
On the other hand, experts also explained that your Apple ID could play a major role in this issue. They added that if your contact has an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, the message you sent might have been delivered on their Mac or iPad, and not on their smartphone.
Fixes You Can Try
If you are still experiencing iMessage’s “Not Delivered” error message, there are several methods you can try. However, you need to remember that these processes are not 100% accurate.
Here are some of the things you can do to fix your iMessage, as reported by MakeUseOf:
- Check if your iOS has the latest version.
- Sign out and sign in your Apple ID
- Check if force restarting will work.
- Delete the unsent message and resend it.
- Remove your SIM card and put it back again.
- Reset all your iPhone settings. You might have changed something in the system.
