BARCELONA, Spain, March 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — At MWC Barcelona 2026, Enterprise Strategy Group, now part of Omdia, released a technical validation report on Huawei’s next-generation OceanStor Dorado converged all-flash storage.
The report highlights that enterprise data volumes are growing rapidly in the AI era, reshaping the way organizations operate and raising the bar for storage infrastructure in terms of performance, resiliency, intelligence and cost-effectiveness. While many storage vendors offer all-flash solutions, architectural design compromises often make it difficult to balance performance, reliability, and cost, limiting the benefits to organizations.
The report provides a comprehensive assessment of next-generation OceanStor Dorado converged all-flash storage in terms of performance, resiliency, intelligent management and total cost of ownership (TCO). The results confirm that the product leads the way in these key areas and demonstrates strong competitiveness in the market, offering a compelling combination of high performance, strong resilience and optimal total cost of ownership. This meets the needs of businesses for digital and intelligent transformation.
Testing in a high-concurrency simulated database environment shows that the all-flash system maintains ultra-high performance of over 876,256 IOPS, with an average response time of just 32 μs. The system stores various data with native and parallel architecture for blocks, files and objects.
The active-active solution supports seamless failover between data centers. The SmartMatrix fully meshed architecture can tolerate the failure of seven out of eight controller enclosures without downtime. FlashEver enables cross-generation convergence and eliminates downtime when replacing storage. The system provides intelligent end-to-end protection with built-in ransomware detection for SAN and NAS.
The iMaster DME data management platform’s DataMaster agent enables automatic system health assessment, performance trend prediction, and fault localization in minutes.
Additionally, five-year total cost of ownership analysis indicates that next-generation OceanStor Dorado converged all-flash storage can reduce total cost of ownership by up to 64% compared to traditional hybrid storage. This provides significant savings in procurement, operation and maintenance and energy consumption.
Yuan Yuan, President of Huawei’s Data Storage Product Line, said: “This technical validation from the Enterprise Strategy Group demonstrates Huawei’s continued leadership in storage technology innovation. Going forward, we will continue to deepen our innovation efforts and help accelerate digital and intelligent transformation across all sectors.
