Huawei CEO Richard Yu said on Weibo that the Mate X2 will be unveiled on February 22. He says the foldable flagship “will lead the new form of smart phones in the future”. As you can see in the picture, the phone will have an inward folding design, unlike the original Mate.
Another surprising detail revealed today is that the Mate X2 will be powered by the Kirin 9000 – it’s no surprise that Huawei wants to use its best chip, it’s a surprise that the company has some in stock (new chips have not been produced since September).
Previously, the X2 went through TENAA, which revealed that the phone would have a 6.45-inch external display with a surprisingly reasonable 21: 9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1160 x 2700 px (for comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold2 has a meager 25: 9 display).
The internal screen will be the largest on a foldable yet, measuring 8.01 inches diagonally (2220 x 2480 px resolution, with a 10: 9 square aspect ratio). The unfolded dimensions of the phone are listed as 161.8 x 145.8 x 8.2mm. Inside will be a 4400mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging. The quad camera on the back will have a 50 + 16 + 12 + 8 MP configuration.

Although it comes from TENAA (and should be fairly reliable), this information has not been officially confirmed – all Richard Yu and his company revealed today are the inward folding design and the chipset. Kirin 9000.
