Samsung will soon formalize its new mid-range hero of the A series, the Galaxy A52 and A72, as well as their 5G compatible versions. As we get closer to their release, we’ve seen a lot of rumors about them recently, and the latest one just contradicts some of the past mumbles.
Specifically, this means that the Galaxy A52 and A72 will both have 90Hz displays, while the A52 5G will get a 120Hz refresh rate. The difference is believed to be related to the choice of chipset. Both 4G variants of the A52 and A72 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720, while the A52 5G will have the more powerful Snapdragon 750 5G SoC at the helm.

Samsung Galaxy A52 5G render leak
A previous report yesterday explicitly mentioned the 4G A52 having a 60Hz refresh rate, so we’re confused. But that’s no surprise when it comes to a lot of rumors in a short period of time. Hopefully Samsung finally decides to make them official soon enough, and then we’ll see what’s what.
The source of today’s refresh rate rumor has also reiterated the rest of the Galaxy A52 5G specs once again. Expect to see a 6.5-inch FHD + Super AMOLED center punch panel, 6/8 GB of RAM, 128/256 GB of storage, a 64 MP main rear cam flanked by an ultra-wide 12 MP, a 5 MP macro camera and a 5 MP depth sensor, a 32 MP selfie snapper, a built-in fingerprint sensor and a 4500 mAh battery with 25 W fast charging. The phone must be running Android 11 with One UI 3.1 out of the box.
The Galaxy A52 5G will also be IP67 water and dust resistant, according to a recently leaked training video. This is a rare feature to see in a mid-ranger, and hopefully this will start a trend that will trickle down to the mobile industry afterwards. The price of this model is rumored to be around € 450, while the LTE version could cost around $ 400 in the US and around € 400 in the EU.
