Liverpool understood that if they could grab three points from Fulham, it would make them jump into the top spot of the English Premier League.

Liverpool totally had a clear mission to accomplish ahead of Fulham, and they recognized that attacking with high pressure can help them achieve the planned goal. The Kop pushed the heat of the game to the highest level at the very first minute, but it was Fulham that got the first chance of the match.

Ivan Cavaleiro found himself in a one-on-one situation at the 13th minute, but the striker of Fulham could not succeed in that opportunity. However, the home team did not have to wait too long. In the 25th minute, Fulham got a goal scored after a firing finishing from  Bobby Decordova-Reid.

A powerful shot from the English striker gave no chance for Alisson to make a save. Fulham got the lead and they became more confident in the upcoming minutes of the game. They broke the attack of Liverpool easily and save their achievement in the first half.

Jurgen Klopp absolutely was furious about this result, and after the unsuccessful first half, Klopp made a change to his squad. In the second half, it was Liverpool that played a better game of soccer. Jordan Henderson had the first chance for his team in the 61st minute, but  Alphonse Areola made a superb save and protect his team from conceding a goal.

Salah had a valuable penalty shot for Liverpool.

Fortunately, Liverpool then finally achieved a chance to score a goal after Fulham Aboubakar Kamara was penalized for using his hand to stop a goal from Liverpool. The Kop had their penalty chance, and  Mohamed Salah converted it with a classy kick.

Sadly, a goal from Salah was not enough to help Liverpool took 3 points from the home team.

Henderson even confessed that it was not a good showcase of Liverpool. The skipper said it during the post-match interview.

“We didn’t really get going in the first 25 minutes which in the Premier League you can’t do, you get punished,” he said. “The good thing was we reacted well. We will look at it, but it’s not like us.”

Though Scott Parker and his team did not win the match, the English coach felt pleased with his side. He had compliments for the fact that his players have been fighting strongly for the final result. Parker said that his side deserved a better result.

Fulham is still in the relegation zone for now, but they added a valuable point to their stock. For Liverpool, they could not claim the dream top spot as they have wished for.
