Facebook Groups new feature adds a touch of expertise to its Groups. Facebook just announced this new feature and according to them, the new feature will help enhance the experience of group users.
Facebook Groups New Feature | Group Badge
According to 9to5mac, Facebook group owners will now be able to designate certain members as the group’s “Group Experts.” These Group Experts will then have a badge in order to indicate or highlight their expertise in the group’s particular topic.
The Verge reported that the “Group Badge” can be found on posts, comments, and even in the Q&A section as well. Experts will also be invited by the group owner or also even by the administrators, the invited users will need to accept the nomination in order for them to receive the badge.
Facebook to Identify ‘Experts’ Within the Group
There will reportedly be new tools in order to help admins really easily find potential experts within a group as well. Mark Zuckerberg’s popular social media company reportedly wants to help further promote this new group feature.
The feature will reportedly allow users to join a community on particular topics and simply interact with other people through the use of an alternative timeline and help them identify the “experts” in the discussion. Facebook also reportedly believes that “Group Experts” will actually help in the fight against the widespread of fake news.
Facebook Against Fake News
Fake news has become an even greater concern shortly following the popular COVID-19 events all around the world. Facebook is currently testing certain ways to help make everything easier for the admins to be able to find these experts.
The feature would also help prompting certain users, that are currently in the gaming as well as fitness spaces, to add certain games or other activities that they are already quite knowledgeable about. The group admins can reportedly search the specific topics in order to find their own new Group Experts.

Facebook Group Experts Feature Release Date is Still Unknown
This particular tactic works as a sort of growth driver for groups as well. It was noted that this is possible since the new experts will reportedly be able to invite certain followers who have just recently interacted through the use of their main page in order to join the group as well.
Facebook recently started rolling out its now popular “Live Audio Rooms” to its users as another alternative to the popular Clubhouse and the already growing Twitter Spaces. The social network has just also announced its very own podcast platform which is currently available to podcast creators through the use of Facebook pages.
As of the moment, the Facebook new feature release date is still unknown. For those that think the new Group Experts is a good idea, users will just have to wait until Facebook officially announces the release of the new feature for its Facebook Groups.
