On Thursday, Apr. 29, Facebook executives said that Apple’s App Tracking Transparency is foreseen to have a “manageable” impact on their business beginning the Q2 of the year. The confirmation was made after the social media giant finished its first-quarter report on its earnings for 2021.

Upon the debut of the iOS 14.5, there are many expectations that Facebook has been waiting for. As per ZDNet’s recent report, Dave Wehner, the CFO of the company said that the ad targeting headwinds this year could likely happen upon the iOS 14.5 update.
However, the controversial security update will point out the need for permission from the app developers. This is required before they could access the IDFA intended for tracking activities across several software and sites.
As such, the company is headed to a “huge amount of work,” as Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg explained. Since there are upcoming changes that will be made for their personalized ads, the company will be devising a new way to tell the people that those ads are business and people-friendly.

Moreover, Sandberg said that there is no need for the businesses to have a full understanding of the acronym” “alphabet soup” that they should follow.
She continued that the business owners should be confident in utilizing Facebook’s useful tools so they could reach those who want to avail their services safely and privately.
Sandberg added that the company is confident that they acquire decent results through this drive at the peak of the digital advertising evolution.
Facebook Believes ‘Manageable Impact’ of App on its Business
As part of the company’s objective. Wehner believed that they could manage the impact of iOS 14.5’s update on their business. This is in line with the goal of Facebook to develop its performance in generating ads using less amount of data.
But, this also paved some way for him to comment on Apple about the problems that they are experiencing through its API which compliments the Cupertino giant’s services and technologies.
Previously, there are disputes that the two companies have been battling.
For instance, Facebook has locked Apple to be its prime competitor when it comes to small businesses. This happened when the social media titan took down the full-page newspaper ads to criticize Apple’s privacy changes.
There was a time that the launched campaign of Facebook was questioned by its own employees, It’s even worse since the appearance of the leaked letter which tells that the company employees only perceived Facebook’s move to be a bad justification for its action.
For Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, the aftermath of the App Tracking Transparency could only help them if the Cupertino giant allows its ads to be exclusive on Facebook’s platforms.
At the time, not every user could see the App Tracking Transparency as it may take some weeks before being launched in the app.
