Despite the defending crisis and mounting of injury list, Liverpool says that they unlikely will sign with new defenders in the January transfer window.
Liverpool reported that they would not plan to sign new defenders for the team even though they suffered the mounting list of injuries in this position. Andy Robertson was the new one to join the injury club of Liverpool which is daunting. The defending crisis made Jurgen Klopp, the coach of The Kop has to summon young players from the academy to the first-team.
The irreplaceable Virgil Van Dijk has already confirmed that he would be out for the rest of the season because of the ACL injury. Van Dijk suffered from the injury during the Merseyside derby against Everton last month.
Joe Gomez also suffered from an injury that could make him stay out for the rest of the season. The defender recently caught a tremendous tendon injury.

Fabinho and Joel Matip are the only two veteran players who are comfortable with the center back position that is available. Nonetheless, the couple struggled with injury as well.
In spite of the defenders’ shortage, Liverpool is more interested in signing new players for the next summer rather than this upcoming January. RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano is reported to the number one target of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. The French defender is the target of other European giants such as Arsenal, Barcelona, and Real Madrid as well.
The youngster Rhy Williams will be the one who likely to fill up the center-back position for Liverpool in the next round of EPL. Jurgen Klopp also gave a hint about adapted a midfielder into the center back position alike to what Pep Guardiola has done to Javier Mascherano, a former Liverpool star.
