Clubhouse finally launched its Android app, at least for U.S. users. It has been more than a year since iPhone users were exclusively introduced to a new social network experience.
On Sunday, the voice-based social network announced the launch of its beta app in Android. The Android app will first be available in the U.S. Eventually, English-speaking users in other countries will soon enjoy it too. And afterward, users around the world will get their hands on it as well.

Clubhouse’s Rapid Growth
Clubhouse took off in March 2020 to pioneer audio-only chat rooms. And the new online player has since been growing rapidly than its developers expected.
“Clubhouse started growing very quickly,” it said on its official blog. “As people all over the world began inviting their friends faster than we had ever expected.”
The said app has been popular with celebrities and even known personalities like Elon Musk, as they were a few of the pioneering users of the audio-only network.

Despite being the sought-after social network, the company said it is maintaining “a measured approach to growth.” This may have been the reason why it took more than a year before welcoming Android users to the fad.
“When you scale communities too quickly, things can break,” Clubhouse said in its blog post. ” So we started Clubhouse on a single platform and have expanded gradually through an invite model.”
Furthermore, the burgeoning social media app said that its rise loaded its system and, in turn, has shifted its focus away from what it liked most — curating product features and hosting community meetups.
Perfecting the Android App
The Clubhouse is slated to roll out the Android app throughout the world. But before executing the extensive plan, the app plans to make sure it is ready for everybody to see.
The Android beta exists to gather community feedback, fix any issues, and, soon, launch monetization systems, according to Clubhouse’s official blog.
After these concerns are settled, more users will be welcomed to a new social network experience. And Clubhouse will be better equipped to compete with its giant rivals.
Clubhouse and the Goliaths
The launch on Android comes after other prominent technology names are going after the concept that Clubhouse has introduced.
Twitter and Discord, The Verge reported, have already launched their own version namely Spaces and Stage Channels. Meanwhile, Facebook, Spotify, Microsoft, and Reddit are also hinting at attempts of competing in the voice-based network market.
Particularly, Twitter is ahead in the game in cloning Clubhouse’s features. Twitter’s Spaces was available to some of its users to Android ahead of the latter’s launch.
Despite Spaces existence, Twitter is reportedly in the talks to purchase the pioneering social media network.
Reddit, on the other hand, is covertly testing a Clubhouse-like feature too, sources say.
Facebook is also reportedly joining the bandwagon. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told the New Product Experimentation group to birth a feature that could trample Clubhouse’s rapid success.
