RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, January 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — January 10, 2026, CATL has opened the first and currently largest energy aftermarket facility outside of China, the NING SERVICE Experience Center in Riyadh, strengthening its aftermarket presence in the Middle East and supporting the region’s transition to cleaner energy systems.
The opening comes as Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East move toward ambitious electrification and decarbonization goals under Vision 2030 and similar national initiatives. Taking the example of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom has set a goal of switching 30% of all vehicles in Riyadh to electric by 2030, as part of a broader strategy to reduce emissions in the capital by 50%. Sustainability policies also support the shift to electric equipment, for example promoting the use of electric forklifts, while also encouraging the use of green energy on farms under the Saudi Green Initiative. However, progress is tempered by persistent challenges, including long-standing dependence on oil, growing demand for electricity, extreme weather, and limited charging and service infrastructure.
Strategically designed to overcome these obstacles, the Riyadh facility provides comprehensive lifecycle after-sales support, cultivates local technical talent, and accelerates the deployment of advanced electrification and energy storage solutions.
Spanning over 7,000 square meters, the Riyadh center combines exhibition spaces, diagnostic and maintenance areas, renovation facilities, training spaces and a customer lounge. It is designed to serve not only as a localized service hub for the region and showcase of CATL’s system-level capabilities in electric mobility, energy storage and smart electrification, but also as a platform connecting diverse resources, fostering industrial synergy across the ecosystem.
A complete life cycle approaching the new energy services
Leveraging CATL’s extensive R&D and extreme manufacturing capabilities, the NING SERVICE Experience Center provides customers with full lifecycle services that encompass battery diagnosis, repair, maintenance, rework, training, recycling, aftermarket logistics and warehousing. Its services cover seven major product categories, from passenger and commercial vehicles to energy storage systems, as well as various repair scenarios, setting a new benchmark for the provision of new energy services in the region.
Leveraging CATL’s advanced diagnostic and repair expertise, as well as established service processes, the center’s comprehensive after-sales services
helps enterprise customers reduce downtime, reduce maintenance costs and extend asset life, providing greater certainty in performance and long-term residual value while reducing long-term ownership costs and providing more cost-effective and reliable services to end users.
Move forward localdimensioned operations and capacity building
The Riyadh hub serves as a key hub for CATL’s localized operations in the Middle East, supporting talent development and long-term local value creation. Through dedicated training facilities, CATL develops after-sales and technical expertise in the new energy sector, contributing to skilled employment and knowledge transfer across the Middle East. Globally, NING SERVICE operates 10 training centers, totaling 2,300 square meters, and has certified more than 9,700 new energy after-sales service professionals through partnerships with professional institutions.
Beyond talent development, CATL is deepening its localization strategy by strengthening local infrastructure and establishing ecosystem partnerships. CATL is in discussions with leading local industry players, including fuel network operators to quickly deliver green electricity to gas stations and large infrastructure companies to electrify their truck fleets, as well as energy companies to deploy solar and storage solutions.
These initiatives not only strengthen CATL’s local service capabilities and market confidence, but also, by enabling key partners, to jointly drive the large-scale adoption of new comprehensive energy solutions across the Middle East.
“As an energy leader in Saudi Arabia, we see huge opportunities in energy transformation. For example, we plan to deploy solar and storage solutions at our fuel stations and electrify forklifts to reduce dependence on oil. We look forward to collaborating with leading players like CATL to advance this transition,” said Ahmed Ibrahim, Deputy General Manager of Procurement at Al Drees, one of the leading oil and logistics service providers in Saudi Arabia.
“The launch of CATL’s flagship aftermarket product in Riyadh underlines our shared commitment to driving the global energy transition. This milestone not only reflects the growing demand for sustainable solutions in Saudi Arabia, but also embodies our collective vision of a cleaner, electrified future. As the investor behind the experience center, we are confident that this partnership will accelerate electrification and strengthen the region’s role in promoting the energy transition. said Lin Chaofan, CEO of F4S.
Part of a global network
The opening in Saudi Arabia builds on CATL’s global service presence, which includes more than 1,200 professional service stations in 76 countries and 73 parts warehouses worldwide. CATL ranks No. 1 in the world in spare parts inventory, consisting of 100% original parts, with a total warehouse area of more than 370,000 square meters. To date, NING SERVICE has supported more than six million electric vehicles, providing professional after-sales services to passenger vehicle, commercial vehicle and energy storage customers.
A long-term commitment to the Middle East
Bruce Li, president of quality system, aftermarket business, battery management systems department at CATL, said the Riyadh center reflects a long-term strategic vision for the region.
“Our decision to establish this center in Riyadh is not only a business choice, but also a long-term commitment,” said Mr. Li. “As the first NING SERVICE experience center in the Middle East, it is more than a service establishment. It is a new energy aftermarket ecosystem center that brings together cutting-edge technology, professional training and industry collaboration, effectively connecting diverse stakeholders and resources to foster deeper synergy and sustainable growth in the region. end-to-end service system.
As the Middle East accelerates its transition to electrification and energy storage adoption, CATL’s expanded NING SERVICE presence is poised to provide the technical reliability and sustainable partnerships essential to this transformation.
