Almost two weeks ago, Carl Pei officially launched his new audio company Nothing. The company is backed by a list of well-known investors, including iPod inventor Tony Fadell, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman, and Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin. In a new interview with Bloomberg Carl Pei has confirmed that Alphabet’s venture capital arm, Google Ventures (GV), has backed $ 15 million in “Series A” funding at his new company.
More importantly, we have confirmation that Nothing’s first wireless headphones will be launching this summer. Pei described his plan to create an ecosystem of devices that can connect to each other. For now, the focus seems to be on audio, but that could change over time. We will be keeping an eye on developments regarding Nothing.
