[BREAKING] Tesla Energy Division Targets China Market: Here are Storage and Charging Integration Project’s Details

Tesla Energy division confirmed that it is opening a headquarter in China, one of the company’s largest markets.

“BREAKING: The first Tesla’s Solar and Powerwall deployment in China to be announced tomorrow,” said the Twitter user @JayinShanghai.

“June 23rd Tesla China Energy Storage and Charging Integration Project at Lhasa, Tibet, China. Supercharger + Powerwall + Solar @elonmusk @tesla,” he added.

His latest tweet was only able to generate more than 170 likes and 30 retweets.

Although this is the case, various Tesla experts and analysts said that the new project is a major one since there are no Tesla Energy plants in China. The Asian country was only able to enjoy Elon Musk’s popular EV units so far.

Tesla’s Upcoming China Energy Division

According to Electrek’s latest report, Tesla’s upcoming Energy Divison in China is expected to offer its popular stationary energy storage and solar rooftop systems.

These specifically include Powerwall. Right now, Powerwall is only available for purchase in the United States, Australia, Germany, and other countries.

Since it will soon be offered in the Asian country, Elon Musk could expect a massive income increase from its energy products. The giant tech CEO is expected to announce its new plan at an event in Lhasa, Tibet.

On the other hand, Tesla also shared some images of the Powerwall, solar panels, and Supercharger ahead of the announcement. Meanwhile, the giant EV maker also listed energy jobs in China.

Some rumors claimed that this is a strong indication that the tech giant company could start solar and Powerwall residential installations in China.

Tesla’s Other Innovations

Aside from the upcoming Tesla Energy division in China, the giant electric vehicle creator also partnered with a startup in New York. This collaboration will allow Revel to buy around 50 Tesla Model Y units. 

The New York-based company announced that it will make these EVs into yellow taxis. However, TCL (The NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission) stated that it had voted to stop issuing new for-hire licenses for electric vehicles. 

Aloysee Heredia Jarmoszuk, the chairperson of New York TLC, explained that electric cars are not guaranteed to reduce the increasing road congestions. 

Although this is the case, Jarmoszuk clarified that the aspiring Model Y Taxi could still launch its EV units, as reported by Teslarati.
