Forty-six Covid-19 patients in Vietnam are experiencing worsening medical conditions, including 13 suffering very serious symptoms. They are among a total of around 1,120 Covid-19 patients being treated at 53 medical facilities across Vietnam at present. Mobile World CEO Doan Van Hieu Em said small electronics retailers can collaborate with Mobile World and sell every product available on the websites of Mobile World and Dien May Xanh, its two electronics retail chains which sell smartphones, computers and household products. A 89-year-old woman with Covid-19 died Saturday, becoming the country’s 36th coronavirus death and the first in eight months. “Patient 3839” died with “underlying conditions,” according to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control. She was diagnosed with severe pneumonia due to Covid-19, advanced respiratory failure, diabetes and hypertension, among others. 18 more Covid-19 infection cases were reported in Vietnam at noon on Saturday, raising the total number of patients in the country to 3,854, the Ministry of Health has reported. According to the ministry’s report, 16 out of the 18 newly-confirmed patients are locally-transmitted cases who were detected in quarantine sites or areas under lockdown, including nine in Bac Giang Province, two in Dien Bien Province, two in Hanoi, and one each in Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, and Hung Yen provinces. Vietnam will receive 31 million vaccine doses made by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE in 2021, the country’s health ministry said on its website. The health ministry also registered to buy about 10 million additional doses through Covax, a program backed by WHO and other global health groups, the ministry said. In all, the government so far has wrapped up deals to acquire about 110 million vaccine doses. The ministry did not specify how Vietnam will acquire the Pfizer doses.
