The official launch date for the Asus ROG Phone 5 is March 10, but DxOMark has already released its audio review of the game’s flagship. And that gave it an excellent rating.
Regardless, with a score of 79, the upcoming ROG Phone takes the top spot in the ranking with a good lead over the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro (76) in second place. Its predecessor, the ROG Phone 3, is currently tied for third with the Huawei Mate 20 X (both at 75 points).

The phone in question appears to be the I005DA, which we saw on TENAA in January rather than the I005DB version, which appeared later. Version B has a screen on the back while the images of Model A had a Tencent Games logo instead. The phone tested by DxOMark does not have a Tencent display or logo.
What the phone has are two front stereo speakers, Dirac tuning technology, and a 3.5mm headphone jack with an ESS DAC. And a Snapdragon 888 chipset, of course.
In terms of performance, the ROG Phone 5 achieved top-notch sub-scores in dynamic, spatial, and artefact tests. There are a few drawbacks, including slightly weak bass and issues popping up at maximum volume. The phone’s recording capabilities are generally excellent.
