Eric Baptizat Leaves Ubisoft for EA
Axios has initially reported that Baptizat has reportedly joined the EA ranks to start working on a certain in-production unannounced title over at Motive. While it has not yet been officially confirmed, a number of people believe that the unannounced title is actually another reimagining of the popular survival horror game title “Dead Space.”
The sudden shift in allegiance is shocking as Baptizat had been working at Ubisoft for a reported 16 years. He had also directed the popular “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla” and even worked as the official lead designer of “Black Flag” and “Origins.”
Could a New ‘Dead Space’ be in the Works?
As of the moment, there is still very little known of the upcoming rumored “Dead Space” reimagining, although the hiring of Baptizat would potentially hint at the direction that the team now intends to take with the new game. His reported high-profile work with the massively successful “Assassin’s Creed” resulted in three of the best-reviewed games in the whole series.
“Dead Space” was previously launched back in 2007 and was able to set a brand new standard for the whole sci-fi survival horror when it comes to video games. The game currently holds an average Metacritic rating of a whopping86 out of 100 based on the reviews of 28 critics.
‘Dead Space 3’ Flop?
The last game in the series, the memorable “Dead Space 3,” was released back in 2013 and received mixed reviews. The poor sales of the title suddenly led EA to shelve the whole series indefinitely, though it is suddenly speculated that the company will be revealing the next “Dead Space” title at its own upcoming EA Play Live expected on July 22, 2021.
EA Motive, the team responsible for reportedly rebooting “Dead Space,” had developed the previous year’s “Star Wars Squadrons” title, according to the story by NME. The first-person aerial combat game features a unique “Star Wars” story, VR gameplay, and even competitive multiplayer modes.

Baptizat with EA
Meanwhile, 343 Industries’ official new “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” mod’s very own support release has broken a full number of other prior fan-made mods. There are over 50 mods that were created prior to the full official support that no longer works, reportedly leaving modders disappointed and frustrated.
With Baptizat coming to EA, fans can only expect big things ahead. Although there isn’t really an official announcement as to what the director could be working on, it seems like gamers could be expecting something big from EA coming forward. Of course, fans will have to wait for an official announcement from EA to figure out what could be coming soon.
