SINGAPORE, January 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Asia Pacific Maritime (APM), Asia’s premier exhibition and conference for shipbuilding and maritime, workboats, offshore and electric and hybrid marine, will return for its 19th installment, from March 25 to 27, 2026 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, with its largest edition to date. Organized by RX and anchored on the theme “The Future of Ships, Solutions for Tomorrow,” NPA 2026 is expected to bring together world leaders to examine how upcoming energy technologies and innovations are shaping the future of the maritime sector.
As decarbonization targets intensify and digital innovation accelerates, the maritime sector is entering a decisive phase of the energy transition. Energy is now driving progress in maritime decarbonization, including newbuild specifications, fuel strategies, operational optimization, and the capital and contracts that support them.
Driven by this momentum, APM 2026 opens with a welcome speech from the guest of honor Ang Wee Keong, Director-General of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)will present a sold-out exhibition bringing together more than 700 exhibitors, spread across 18 pavilions spread across six exhibition halls. The exhibition highlights solutions related to the use of alternative fuels, electric and hybrid technologies, wind propulsion and solutions influencing decarbonization.
On the conference side, APM will host nearly 100 international speakers, covering key topics such as future fuels and zero-emission ships, next generation shipbuilding: design, construction, modernization and repair; Electric and hybrid energy; Finance, risks and insurance for the fleet of the future; Maritime cybersecurity; and intelligent and autonomous ships.
Weichaione of the world’s largest industrial equipment manufacturers, commented: “APM is the largest meeting place in Asia and has played a pivotal role in accelerating our growth in the region, since establishing our presence in Singapore. Returning for our tenth appearance at APM in 2026, we look forward to presenting our largest and most ambitious showcase yet.
“Earlier this month, we celebrated the successful completion of a 1,000-hour sea trial of the vessel Pinnacle Marine (Singapore). President 100. The vessel, operated by Prestige Ocean Pte Ltd, is the first vessel of its type powered entirely by 100% biodiesel made from renewable raw materials and B100 engines manufactured by Weichai. This milestone will be commemorated in a test certification ceremony alongside NTU’s Center of Excellence for Maritime Energy and Sustainable Development (MESD) and the China Classification Society Singapore at APM, and we are excited to showcase our B100 series of products at our booth.
Exhibition highlights new energy pathways to cleaner shipping
Electrification continues to gain traction as one of the most immediate routes to reducing offshore emissions, and battery systems, in particular, allow ship owners and operators to improve efficiency without compromising operational reliability.
“Battery electrification will help ship owners and operators immediately improve vessel efficiency and reduce fuel consumption and GHG emissions. The ship’s power plant must be flexible and adaptable, so that it can still use traditional combustion engines to meet demand, but also use batteries, which help the power plant improve its overall efficiency. As such, a scalable design should already be included during the new construction phase,” said Jan-Erik Räsänen, Chief Technology Officer at Foreship, part of RINA.
Reflecting this shift, APM 2026 will bring together leading suppliers of electric and battery technologies, including AYK Energy, CALB, Eve Energy, MT Power, Roypow and Shenzhen Racern Technology.
To support shipowners and operators more closely, APM 2026 introduces a new functionality: the electric and hybrid consultation lounge. The show brings together experts from major industry players, including Maritime Battery Forum, CharIN, International Maritime Electric Association (IEMA) and Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTA)to provide practical advice for achieving more efficient operations. Discussions will focus on four critical areas shaping adoption: high-power charging in electric mobility, maritime battery systems, next-generation electric marine technologies and zero-emission shipping.
In the field of renewable energy, wind propulsion is re-emerging as a viable decarbonization pathway for deep-sea shipping, and APM will present cutting-edge wind propulsion equipment. Clarksons reported that there were 89 ships equipped with a wind propulsion system as of December 2025, and the International Windship Association (IWSA) commented in the same month that there were indications that up to 130 of these ships were under construction, scheduled for delivery by 2028.
In response, APM 2026 highlights wind solutions that can power future fleets, with exhibitors including Chantiers de l’Atlantique (CDL), CWS Morel, Dealfeng New Energy Technology, Econowind BV and Norsepower Oy Ltd.
Visitors can also expect leading exhibitors advancing alternative fuels, sustainable engine solutions and technologies that drive operational efficiencies, including Advanced Polymer Coatings, DAIHATSU INFINEARTH, International Paint, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine System Asia, Nippon Paint Marine, PPG Coatings, Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia Pte Ltd (MTU), Siemens Energy, VINSSEN, Volvo Group, Yanmar Power Solutions and ZF Friedrichshafen AG.
Conference focuses on turning momentum into measurable impact
As innovative ship concepts move from pilot stage to actual deployment, the three-day conference focuses on how the maritime industry can translate its ambitions into action. Main panel “The state of maritime affairs and the next steps for Asia”” will bring together executive perspectives on decarbonization, digitalization and changing trade flows to answer key questions that can shape the industry’s next decade: What strategic bets on fuel technology and innovation will deliver real competitive advantage? What role will Asia play in setting global standards and driving the next wave of maritime innovation?
Main panelist Joey Chua, Vice Chairman of the Digitalization Committee, Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) commented: “As demand for shipping increases, it is becoming clear that digitalization plays a crucial role beyond an efficiency tool. Leveraging digital tools is becoming a key factor in capacity building, and for real progress to be made, their adoption must occur across the entire maritime ecosystem, involving key stakeholders such as shipowners, port operators, regulators and more.
The APM Conference features panel discussions and fireside chats on the game-changing technologies and trends that will define the maritime industry’s next decade. The full conference program, including a list of topics and notable speakers, can be viewed here.
