The first rumors that Apple would develop a foldable iPhone surfaced in late 2017. More recent reports suggest the device will finally be ready for the market next year, but a new report from the analytics firm EqualOcean postpones that until 2023.

Interestingly, the report also claims that the foldable iPhone will support a stylus. It’s unclear if that means the current Apple Pencil that’s used by some iPads (and iPhones are sometimes supposed to support) or if it will be a new design.
When unfolded, the screen will measure between 7.3 and 7.6 inches. This will be with a very high aspect ratio as the foldable iPhone would have a clamshell form factor – a vertical backrest like the Galaxy Z Flip (which has a 6.7 “22: 9 screen).

There has been no official confirmation from Apple that it is indeed developing a foldable phone. The company prefers to work in secrecy and is also reportedly involved in building anti-AR glasses and an autonomous car.
