Walking has become a favorite activity for many in these times of a pandemic, and Apple has just presented a way to make it more interesting. Starting this week, the company is offering a feature called Time to Walk – it’s available to Apple Watch owners who have signed up for the Fitness + program.
The new feature comes with narration and favorite playlists from celebrities like Dolly Parton and Shawn Mendes. Each week until the end of April there will be new episodes with guests, and all previous ones will be stored in the Workout app on the watch.
First time to walk guests
Each episode includes a guest’s personal moments and lessons learned, meaningful memories and various thoughts. The narration will be accompanied by photos that appear on the Apple Watch screen, and after each story there will be a short playlist of songs that have motivated and inspired fame.
Apple Watch owners can enjoy Time to Walk if they connect their AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones. Episodes will last between 25 and 40 minutes and will automatically appear in the Fitness + tab of the Workout app. Once the episodes are downloaded, Wi-Fi or cellular connection is not required.
Time to walk with Shawn Mendes
The idea is a nice combination of celebrity curated playlists and guest podcasts, bundled into a short amount of time for a daily stroll – all the exercise some people are allowed to do during the pandemic. However, this remains an exclusive feature since Fitness + is only available in six countries and limited to Apple users.
