In an official blog statement, Amazon India confirmed that it will start local production of its Fire TV Stick as part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The streaming sticks will be manufactured by Cloud Network Technology (a subsidiary of Foxconn) in the city of Chennai, in eastern India by the end of this year. This marks an important milestone for Amazon as the first time it would produce its own material in India.

The latest additions to the Fire TV Stick lineup were announced in September with the Fire TV Stick and TV Stick Lite. It is still unclear which models will be produced locally in India. Commenting on the news, Amit Agarwal (SVP and Head of Amazon India) explained that the new manufacturing program will meet the demands of Indian customers and that Amazon will continue to expand its capacity in other cities based on demand.
We are delighted to announce our 1st device manufacturing line in India and to contribute to the #MakeInIndia initiative.
