DAVOS, Switzerland, January 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — AM Group, the leading energy transition platform backed by the founders of Greenko Group, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Invest UP, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, to establish a 1 GW (Gigawatt) high-performance computing hub to serve global AI workloads.

AMG will establish an AI infrastructure hub in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, with a total investment of around $25 billion. This large-scale project will be developed in a phased manner with first capacity planned in 2028 and a total capacity of 1 GW planned by 2030. This partnership highlights AM Group’s commitment to creating sustainable, carbon-neutral smart economic solutions and aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s vision to become India’s leading AI hub.
This project will represent a multi-billion investment in setting up GW-scale infrastructure with around 500,000 latest high-performance chipsets and will be one of the largest investments in the country to date, aligned with the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision to accelerate the expansion of AI-based services.
Powering the future of AI and high-performance computing
As India’s demand for high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads increases, this facility will be designed to meet the requirements of India’s global hyperscalers, frontier labs, enterprises and sovereign AI initiatives at scale and speed using carbon-free energy.
AMG AI Laboratories, with its vision of democratizing AI, is developing an end-to-end value chain, from efficient on-demand electrons to smart tokens. These smart tokens are key building blocks for customized models and applications in industries such as energy, healthcare, sovereign clouds, manufacturing, automotive, media and gaming, among others.
This HPC computing capability will also enable access to the chipsets to a broader Indian developer community to accelerate and develop AI solution stacks for global and domestic use.
The AI hub will include:
- Scalable infrastructure: Gradual deployment, with the first capacity operational by 2028, reaching the full 1 GW by 2030.
- Strategic location: Utilize Uttar Pradesh’s robust industrial corridors and favorable data center policy to provide low-latency, high-reliability connectivity to growing digital markets.
- Integration of green energy: Leveraging AMG’s leadership in renewable energy, the facility will be powered 24/7 by carbon-free energy solutions, including wind, solar and pumped storage.
A catalyst for economic growth
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of senior government officials and the AMG management team at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The project is expected to attract significant foreign direct investment (FDI) and generate thousands of highly skilled jobs in the region, fostering a local ecosystem for hardware manufacturing, software development and specialized cooling technologies.
“Evolving the global AI ecosystem with intentionality, intelligence and adaptability will be an essential tool for current and future generations. AMG’s AI Labs focus on leveraging electronic agents into smart tokens is a natural extension of our technology-driven approach to our business as the global AI ecosystem races toward physical AI solutions,” said Anil Chalamalasetty, Chairman of AM Group.
“By combining 1 GW of computing capacity with our 24/7 green energy solutions, we are not just building a data center; we are creating a sustainable model for the future of global AI infrastructure with the support of the state of Uttar Pradesh,” added Mahesh Kolli, Chairman of AM Group.
About AM Group
AMG is promoted by the founders of the Greenko Group, one of India’s leading renewable energy conglomerates. AMG is building globally differentiated platforms around molecules, materials and AI technologies to enable industrial decarbonization and competitive tokenization at scale.
Greenko will be a 50 GW energy infrastructure platform with presence in more than 20 states for solar, wind, hydroelectric and energy storage projects. Greenko is building the world’s first interconnected energy storage solution with 100 GWh of storage capacity across the country.
AMG is developing low-carbon ammonia projects at multiple sites in India with the aim of reaching 5 Mtpa of green ammonia capacity. The 1 Mtpa green ammonia plant, currently under construction, will be one of the largest RFNBO-compliant green ammonia facilities in the world, supporting efforts to achieve net zero emissions targets in India and global markets.
AMG is also developing production capabilities for other net-zero molecules and chemicals, including green caustic soda, e-methanol, olefins and biofuels, including sustainable aviation fuel for decarbonization in hard-to-abate industries.
AMG Metals & Materials is setting up a 1 MTPA green aluminum production plant as part of a broader green materials offering.
