SINGAPORE, May 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Digital travel platform Agoda has rolled out a new feature that automatically displays hotel images with relevant reviews, making it even easier for travelers to see what others are saying about the specific features they’re considering for their stay. The tool is powered by a unique, AI-powered, multi-modal content system, connecting the dots for travelers across Agoda’s platform’s extensive content in a more intuitive way.
When browsing hotels on Agoda, travelers previously viewed photo galleries and reviews in separate sections. To check whether a pool photo matched guest reviews, for example, they had to manually search through the reviews. Agoda’s new feature presents relevant review snippets alongside images, bringing together visual content as well as customer reviews in a single view.
The system processes over 700 million images and millions of reviews in over 40 languages. Using a thematic approach, the platform maps images and reviews to common attributes such as “breakfast”, “pool” or “location”. When a traveler looks at breakfast photos, they immediately see guest reviews about the quality of the breakfast and an overall opinion score.
Idan Zalzberg, chief technology officer at Agoda, said: “There is a clear benefit for travelers in connecting what they see with what others have experienced. Previously, this took time and effort as travelers moved from one section to another. With the new multimodal content system, travelers get the complete picture directly in the photo gallery, making it easier to choose the right choice for their trip.
The system searches through Agoda’s entire real estate inventory, selecting the best images for each topic and extracting the most relevant review snippets. Each topic displays up to 15 images, guest quotes in the traveler’s language, and a sentiment breakdown showing the percentages of positive, negative, and neutral comments.
With this rollout, Agoda continues to further bridge the gap between visual content and travelers’ experiences, helping them make more informed decisions when choosing their accommodation. Agoda’s offerings include more than 6 million vacation properties, 130,000 flight itineraries and 300,000 activities, all available on Agoda.com and in the Agoda mobile app.
