100 grams of durian provides consumers with 24% of the daily intake of vitamin C, which strengthens the immune system and improves leukocyte activity. Vitamin C also helps produce more collagen, which is beneficial for skin, hair and nails.
However, the fruit is also rich in nutrients and 100 grams of durian contains 147 calories. Thus, durian pulp, which weighs on average 250 grams, provides approximately 367 calories.
For this reason, a person under normal conditions should consume no more than four durian pulps per day. Consuming more than this amount may cause bloating, constipation or dyspepsia.
People with diabetes should only consume one to two durian pulps at a time. People with kidney failure or using artificial kidneys should also not eat durian.
It is also not recommended to consume durian with wine, as this combination can lead to headaches, nausea, vomiting and other adverse effects.
