Vietnam’s coconut exports are expected to reach $1 billion in 2025 after the United States and China agree to allow Vietnamese coconuts to enter both markets, according to the Vietnam Nut Association of coconut.
As the United States is about to open the market to Vietnamese coconuts and China allows the official import of coconuts, local companies are trying to develop raw material zones, apply for codes of cultivation areas and register to build organic material areas to meet the needs of the global market. .
By the end of 2022, coconut export turnover exceeded $700 million. But based on the dynamics of the United States and China agreeing to import Vietnamese coconuts, by the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, the turnover of coconut exports will reach $1 billion.
In 2021, this fruit was ranked among the main industrial crops of Vietnam.
Around 20 major companies in the country have exported coconuts to the world. Up to 35 countries and territories are importers from Vietnam.
