The fourth and fifth Boeing C-17 Globemaster III transport planes carrying supplies and equipment for US President Joe Biden’s upcoming visit to Vietnam landed at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi on Sunday.
The fourth plane landed at 9:30 a.m. and the fifth at 10 a.m.
They were all parked in the sheds to be unloaded for a few hours.
The sixth C-17 is expected to arrive at 4 p.m.
On September 1, three C-17s carrying US presidential vehicles and other equipment arrived in Hanoi.

The C-17 Globemaster III is a heavy military aircraft developed by the Berkeley-based aerospace company McDonnell Douglas in the late 1980s for strategic and tactical transport, capable of transporting weapons and soldiers to any location in the world.
Each C-17 is 53 meters long.
US President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Vietnam on September 10-11 at the invitation of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang confirmed the schedule of the visit in a statement on Tuesday: “We believe that the visits of the leaders of the two countries will deepen relations between Vietnam and the United States, helping them to develop in a stable, substantial and long-term way”. in all areas, contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
The visit will be President Biden’s first since taking office in early 2021, and will take place as the countries celebrate 10 years of comprehensive partnership.
