Video footage showed a drunk driver speeding past traffic police officers who wanted to drink him at the start of what turned out to be a three-minute high-speed chase on Monday .
Police in Buon Ma Thuot town in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak arrested Nguyen Van Tin, 40, for failing alcohol tests, testing positive for drugs and failing to having complied with the orders of the traffic police officers.

On Monday evening, teams of police officers were stationed on Phan Chu Trinh Street to check for alcohol violations.
The officers asked a van to stop and gave the driver, Tin, a breathalyzer test.
However, Tin did not comply with the request and instead overtook the officers.
The police chased them, and while chasing them, Tin ran red lights and drove recklessly.
The police managed to arrest him three minutes after the start of the chase on Le Dai Hanh Street. His alcohol level was 0.407 mg per liter and he also tested positive for narcotics.
Tin said he had gotten drunk previously and “lost control”.
“My behavior was dangerous,” he said. “I know I was wrong and I apologize to the officers and the public.”
