The SJC gold price gained 0.22 percent to VND68.3 million ($2,828.75) per tael on Wednesday morning, its highest level since January 27.
The price of the gold ring increased by 0.18% to 57.05 million VND per tael. A tael is equal to 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.
Globally, gold prices hovered near three-week highs on Wednesday after weak U.S. job openings and consumer confidence data eased bets on a hike in interest rates by the Federal Reserve this year. Reuters reported.
Spot gold held steady at $1,936.59 an ounce, trading near its highest levels since Aug. 7 on Tuesday. U.S. gold futures settled at $1,964.30.
US Treasury yields fell to a three-week low on Tuesday after the data was released and the dollar also weakened, making gold cheaper for other currency holders. Lower interest rates dampen demand for non-interest-bearing gold.
