Bakery Lien Hoa in Da Lat (Lam Dong) city was fined VND 92 million and suspended for 3 months after poisoning more than 130 customers for nearly a month.
On April 13, the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee issued a decision to sanction an administrative violation in the field of food safety for Ms. Tran Thi Y Nhi – the representative of a business household of Lien Hoa Bakery in the amount of VND 92 million and suspended for 3 months processing, trading and supplying food.
At the same time, the store owner should be responsible for the costs of dealing with food poisoning, examining and treating poisoning patients when eating bread here.
The move came after more than 130 passengers who ate bread at the Lien Hoa restaurant were hospitalized for emergency treatment with symptoms of digestive disorders, vomiting and defecation.
An audit by the authorities found that the bakery did not comply with the food sample storage regulations and the three-step verification regime. Equipment, means for transporting and storing food, ready meals and ready meals are not hygienic.
Previously, Vietnamnet reported that from March 18 to 24, hospitals in Lam Dong registered 133 people with food poisoning related to bread produced by the Lien Hoa facility, of whom 109 were hospitalized. Among the patients are tourists and athletes.
